Private Iyengar Yoga
🤍 Precision, Alignment & Structural Integrity
Led by an experienced teacher, these private sessions focus on disciplined alignment, intelligent sequencing, and the therapeutic application of props.
Sessions are held in quiet, fully-equipped private studios in Orchard, Raffles Place, or in your own home — so your practice can take root in a space designed for one-on-one attention.
🧘♀️ What Is Iyengar Yoga?
Iyengar Yoga is a structured, therapeutic approach to asana that emphasises postural precision, focused engagement, and intelligent progression.
Each pose is taught with methodical instructions and held long enough to build both physical endurance and mental presence.
Props — such as belts, blocks, and bolsters — are used as tools for adaptation and support, allowing you to experience the pose fully, regardless of age, ability, or injury history.
This method prioritises:
🧭 Postural intelligence through informed alignment
🧘♂️ Paced learning that strengthens focus and stability
🧱 Props as precision tools, not crutches
🌀 Purposeful sequencing, from recovery to resilience
It’s a practice designed not for performance — but for longevity, balance, and real-world function.

🧠 Backed by Research, Rooted in Therapy
Iyengar Yoga is one of the most rigorously studied and therapeutically applied forms of yoga today.
Research supports its effectiveness for chronic back pain, postural dysfunction, and spinal mobility.
Clinical evidence also shows improvements in joint stability, fatigue, anxiety, and functional movement — especially when taught one-on-one with tailored prop support.
The method is frequently used in post-surgical rehab, senior care, and burnout recovery, due to its safety and adaptability.
🌀 What to Expect in a Session
Private Iyengar Yoga sessions are deeply customised — ideal for postural retraining, pain relief, or refining your current practice.
You can expect:
-
Clear, alignment-based instruction with live feedback
-
Sustained holds to develop strength and proprioception
-
Sequences structured around your needs and goals
-
Strategic use of props to ensure both safety and depth
-
A calm, grounded pace that encourages nervous system regulation
There’s no rushing, no guesswork — just intelligent movement tailored to support how your body feels and functions.
🗂️ Personalised Progress Reports & Movement Insights
As part of your programme, I offer personally written progress reports at strategic intervals — often monthly, or as needed based on your goals and training phase.
Each report is grounded in direct clinical observation during your sessions, covering posture, breath quality, neuromuscular control, and overall movement capacity.
These are not templates. They are tailored documents that serve as:
– A clear, trackable record of your physical progress
– Support for refining your practice between sessions
– Insight into what’s working — and what to focus on next
– A professional summary to share with your physio, doctor, or therapist if needed
Whether recovering from injury or building lasting strength, these reports keep you informed and confident every step of the way.
🙋 Who This Is For
Private Iyengar Yoga is suitable for anyone seeking a methodical, therapeutic, and intelligent movement practice.
It may support you if you’re working with:
- Chronic back pain, scoliosis, or spinal stiffness
- Joint issues or postural imbalances
- Neck, shoulder, or hip tension
- Recovery from fatigue, burnout, or injury
- A desire for greater balance, structure, and physical awareness
This approach welcomes all bodies — regardless of age, experience, or flexibility.

She takes a hands-on approach to ensure we are getting alignment correct and not over-extending ourselves. The defining feature of this method: The practice must be tailored to the individual's body.
It’s one of the few yoga styles that balances both strength and softness, offering a therapeutic approach that supports healing without sacrificing power.
When I was injured, I didn’t want to limit myself to only gentle, passive styles like yin or restorative yoga, which lack the strengthening element I needed.
Iyengar gave me a way to rebuild my body mindfully and resiliently, making it the foundation of my own practice and a key pillar of my teaching.
If you’re seeking a method that is both safe and effective — tailored to support injury recovery while building lasting strength — this is the practice for you.
