Pre / Postnatal Yoga & Pilates
A Pre/Postnatal Yoga and Pilates class is a specialised movement experience tailored to support women through the physical and emotional transitions of pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Whether you’re preparing for birth or easing back into movement after it, these classes are designed to meet you where you are, safely and mindfully.

Safe and Supportive Movement
Classes offer a gentle, adaptable approach to staying active before and after birth. Movements are carefully selected and modified to reflect the physical needs, energy levels, and considerations of each stage — whether managing fatigue during pregnancy or rebuilding strength postpartum.

Mind-Body Connection
Prenatal and postnatal sessions emphasise mindful, intentional movement. Expectant and new mothers are guided to tune into their bodies, helping to develop awareness, presence, and trust in their evolving physicality.

Breath and Nervous System Support
Breathwork (including foundational pranayama) is woven throughout the practice, supporting better oxygenation, nervous system regulation, and stress management. Postnatally, it also helps re-engage the core from the inside out.

Core Recovery and Strength
Pilates-informed exercises strengthen the deep core muscles, including the transverse abdominis, obliques, and multifidus. During pregnancy, this supports posture and reduces back pain. Postnatally, this gentle core work helps reconnect the abdominals, especially important for those healing from diastasis recti.

Pelvic Floor Awareness
Throughout both prenatal and postnatal phases, attention is given to pelvic floor health — not just through Kegels, but through integrative movement strategies that support both strength and relaxation.

Flexibility, Release and Rest
Expect elements of stretching, mobility, and restorative poses to ease tension, manage swelling or stiffness, and create moments of deep rest — essential in both trimesters and early motherhood.

Preparation and Recovery
For prenatal clients, some classes may include birth-preparatory movement and positioning. For postnatal clients, sessions may focus on functional strength and real-world recovery — from carrying baby to navigating broken sleep.

Adaptable and Individualised
All movements can be adapted to reflect your trimester, postpartum timeline, and fitness level. No two pregnancies or recoveries are alike — your practice honours that.

Whole-Person Well-being
Beyond the physical, classes support emotional well-being. Both pregnancy and early motherhood can bring hormonal shifts and big changes. Movement becomes a grounding practice — a place to reconnect with yourself.

Whether you’re nurturing new life or rediscovering your body after birth, Pre/Postnatal Yoga and Pilates offers a grounded, empowering way to care for yourself — physically, emotionally, and mindfully.
