The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body — and that freedom of movement depends on the stability provided by the rotator cuff: a group of four muscles and their tendons (supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, subscapularis).
 

Common rotator cuff injuries include:
 

  • Tendinitis or tendinopathy (overuse or degenerative changes)

  • Partial or full-thickness tears

  • Impingement syndrome (pinching under the acromion)
